Getting started · Install FleetCommander as an app

Install FleetCommander: Mac, Windows, Android, iPhone

Put FleetCommander on your Mac, Windows PC, Android phone or iPhone with its own icon — it opens in a window of its own, like an app. Nothing to download from an app store.

FleetCommander isn't in the App Store or Google Play — it runs in your browser. But you can install it: it gets its own FleetCommander icon (the yellow school bus) on your computer or phone, and opens in a window of its own without the browser's bar, like any other app. It's always the latest version; there's nothing to update.

The FleetCommander icon, and where it appears once installed: a Mac's Dock, the Windows Start menu and taskbar, and the home screen on Android and iPhone.

Good to know: You still sign in each time you open it, as in the browser — closing it signs you out. Installing works the same for office staff and drivers.

Mac

Use Chrome or Microsoft Edge (or Safari — below).

In Chrome, the Install app icon — a computer screen with a down arrow — sits at the right end of the address bar, just left of the star.
  1. Open FleetCommander in Chrome.
  2. At the right end of the address bar, click the Install app icon — a computer screen with a down arrow, just left of the star. Pointing at it says Install FleetCommander.
  3. Click Install. FleetCommander opens in its own window and is added to your Applications (Launchpad).
  4. To keep it in the Dock: right-click its icon in the Dock › Options › Keep in Dock.
Installed on a Mac: FleetCommander in its own window, with its name in the title bar and its icon in the Dock.
  • No icon in the address bar? Open Chrome's menu (⋮) › Cast, save, and share › Install page as app… (the wording changes a little between Chrome versions).
  • Safari (macOS Sonoma or later): File › Add to Dock, then Add.
  • Microsoft Edge: the same kind of icon in the address bar, or the menu (⋯) › Apps › Install this site as an app.

Windows PC

  1. Open FleetCommander in Microsoft Edge or Chrome.
  2. Click the Install icon at the right end of the address bar (Edge says App available. Install FleetCommander), or open the menu — Edge: ⋯ › Apps › Install this site as an app; Chrome: ⋮ › Cast, save, and share › Install page as app….
  3. Click Install. FleetCommander opens in its own window and is listed in the Start menu.
  4. To keep it on the taskbar: right-click its icon on the taskbar › Pin to taskbar.
Installed on Windows: FleetCommander in the Start menu, and its icon pinned on the taskbar.

Android

  1. Open FleetCommander in Chrome (or Edge or Samsung Internet).
  2. Open the browser's menu (⋮) and choose Install app — or, for drivers, press the button on the tip at the top of My Day.
  3. Tap Install. The FleetCommander icon appears on your home screen (some phones show it round).
On Android: Chrome's menu with Install app, and the FleetCommander icon on the home screen.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open FleetCommander in Safari.
  2. Tap Share — the square with an arrow pointing up.
  3. Scroll down and choose Add to Home Screen, then tap Add.
On iPhone: Safari's Share sheet with Add to Home Screen, and the FleetCommander icon on the home screen.

Updating and removing it

  • Updates: FleetCommander is always the latest version — open it and you have it. A computer or Android phone picks up a new icon by itself after a while; on an iPhone, remove it and add it again to see a new icon.
  • Remove it from a Mac or PC: open it, click the menu (⋮ or ⋯) at the top of its window and choose Uninstall FleetCommander (on Windows you can also right-click it in the Start menu › Uninstall).
  • Remove it from a phone: press and hold the icon, then choose Remove (Android: Uninstall; iPhone: Delete Bookmark or Remove App).

Tip: Drivers: see On your home screen for the short version on a phone.
