Student attendance

Marking each student picked up, a no-show or absent on every run — by the driver on My Day or by the office on the route's page — and the attendance reports.

Student attendance records, for every run of every day, which students rode the bus. The driver marks it on the bus; the office can mark it too — for example when a parent calls the office rather than the driver.

The three marks

  • Picked up (morning run) / Dropped off (afternoon run) — the student rode.
  • No-show (morning) / Not riding (afternoon) — the student wasn't there and nobody told you.
  • Absent — a parent called to say the student won't ride (sick, on holiday, getting a lift). Shown as Absent (parent called).

Tap a mark to choose it; tap the same mark again to clear it. Each mark saves straight away and shows who made it and when.

Drivers: on My Day

  1. Open My Day. Each of today's routes has an Attendance list under its details, with every student in stop order.
  2. If you drive both runs, switch between Morning and Afternoon at the top of the list (the afternoon opens by itself from noon).
  3. At each stop, tap Picked up (or Dropped off), No-show (Not riding) or Absent. The counter — 5 of 12 marked — shows who's left.

If the office has already marked a student absent, you'll see Absent (parent called) with The office next to it — no need to wait at that stop. Drivers mark today's runs only, and only the runs they drive.

The office: on the route's page

  1. Open the route (Routes, then the route number). The Student attendance card shows today's list. Collapse (the arrow on its heading) folds it to one line — the day and how many are marked on each run, e.g. Morning: 5 of 12 marked — and Expand opens it again.
  2. Use the arrows or the date box and Show to go to another day — ahead of time (a parent calls on Monday about Wednesday) or back (to correct a mark).
  3. Choose Morning or Afternoon, then mark the student. You can change or clear any mark, including the driver's.

People who can edit routes (for example Dispatchers and Fleet Managers) can mark; people who can only view routes see the list without the buttons.

Reports

Under Reports › Routes: Student attendance lists every mark in the period (date, route, run, student, the mark, who made it and the time), and Student ridership adds up each student's rides, no-shows and absences, with the share of runs they rode. Both can be printed or exported like any other report.

Tip: A student is matched by their name on the route. If you rename a student on the route's Edit page, their earlier marks stay under the old name in the reports.
