For Drivers
My Day (the driver portal)
The mobile-friendly page drivers use instead of the Dashboard: their bus, routes, inspections and messages.
People with the Driver role see My Day instead of the Dashboard, and a short menu instead of the full one everyone else gets — because a driver's job in the app is narrower: their own bus, their own routes, and reporting problems. Your login must be linked to your driver profile (an administrator does this on the driver's Edit page, under Login account).
How a driver's menu differs
Most roles see the whole sidebar — Fleet, Drivers, Routes, Maintenance, Settings and so on. A Driver's sidebar has just seven items (with Onboarding right under My Day), and the compass app tour icon in the header is hidden too (there's nothing to tour beyond this page).
What is on the page
- Clock in — tap it when you start work and Clock out when you finish, for each shift (morning and afternoon). Your pre-trip inspection clocks you in too. See Driver attendance.
- Time off — the button next to Notifications, and Time off in your menu: ask for a day off, sick time or vacation (or part of a day), and see whether it's approved.
- Your bus — its photo, number, model, mileage and status. If it is out of service, a red warning tells you not to drive it. If the office has given you other vehicles too (a backup, or a second one for some routes), they're listed under Also yours with their status — tap one to start an inspection of it.
- Share my location — the green button under your bus. One tap sends where you are right now to the office (see Sharing your location).
- Big buttons — start a pre-trip or post-trip inspection (see Doing an inspection), report a defect or an incident.
- Today's routes — each route's times, school and vehicle, with its stops and a chat with dispatch about it (see Messaging).
- Stops — open a route's stops to see each student in order: their name, pick up time and address, with tap-to-call numbers for the parent and the student.
- Attendance — each route has a list to mark every student Picked up (or Dropped off), No-show or Absent as you go (see Student attendance).
- Special instructions — anything the office wants you to know about a route (a gate code, where to wait) shows in a yellow box on its card, and you get a notice whenever it changes.
- Aide — if a route has an aide riding with you, its card shows their name, a phone number you can tap to call, and where to pick them up.
- Messages from the office, Notifications, My defects and My documents — your private chat with the office, your bell, the defects you reported that are still open, and your license, medical card and other papers with their expiry dates.
- Recent inspections — the last few you completed.
Good to know: Drivers can only open the pages meant for them: My Day, Search, Inspections, Defects, Incidents, Notifications, and Help — the app hides the rest rather than just greying it out.
