Addresses: suggestions and checking
How address boxes suggest as you type, fix mistakes, and check with the Postal Service.
Every address box (driver, school, vendor, depot, incident location, a route's start, end and stops) helps you type.
- Your own addresses — as you type, it suggests addresses you already use: schools, depots, vendors and earlier routes. Driver home addresses are never suggested.
- City and ZIP — after the street, type a comma and the start of a city or ZIP code and it completes it ("…, Riv" → "Riverside, CA 92501"). Your company's map area is offered first.
- A warning when things don't fit — if the ZIP code belongs to a different city or state, a note explains and offers the corrected address.
- Route stops — one address per line; suggestions are for the line you are typing.
- Depot addresses — choosing a suggestion fills the street, city, state and ZIP boxes together.
Use the up/down arrows and Enter to choose, Esc to close.
Optional extras your administrator can turn on
- Check with USPS — a button under the box that asks the U.S. Postal Service whether the address is real and gives its official spelling. The address is sent to USPS only when you press it. It appears once the company adds its free USPS credentials (Settings › Company shows whether it is on).
- Street suggestions from Google — finishes the street as you type. Because what you type is sent to Google, it is off unless the company adds a Google key and ticks the box in Settings › Company.
