Defects
Problems reported on a vehicle, from Low to Critical, and how they are followed up.
The Manage menu
Manage (top right): Report defect, Export CSV, Edit (opens the ticked defect) and Archive. Tick rows with the check box at the start of each row (the one in the header ticks the whole page). Only resolved or closed defects can be archived — an open, assigned or in-repair one is named in the banner. Archived defects leave the list; Archived (n) under the title shows them, where Manage › Restore brings them back.
A defect is a problem someone found on a vehicle — a cracked mirror, a warning light, worn brakes. Anyone who may report one can do it in a minute.
- Press Report a defect (drivers have a button on My Day).
- Choose the vehicle, the category, the severity — Low, Medium, High or Critical — and describe what is wrong. Press Add a photo if you can (on a phone the camera opens); it uploads straight away.
- Report defect. Managers are notified straight away; a Critical defect can take the vehicle out of service so it isn't used.
Following it up
- Open the defect to assign it to someone, change its severity, and move its status: Open → Assigned → In repair → Resolved → Closed.
- Create work order turns it into a repair job with the details filled in.
- The list can be filtered by status (including Open — not resolved) and severity, searched, and exported.
