Routes & scheduling

Schedule

The calendar of events: training, inspections, renewals and more, by day, week or month.

Schedule is a shared calendar for anything that has a date: driver training, state inspections, maintenance appointments, registration and insurance renewals, route changes.

  • Switch between Day, Week and Month, move with the arrows, and press Today to jump back. To plan ahead, use the date box next to the arrows (the calendar icon): pick any day — next month, next year — and the calendar jumps straight there in the view you're in.
  • Upcoming bank holidays under the calendar lists every U.S. federal holiday in the next 12 months with how far off it is (in 16 days); click one to open its week. Holidays are worked out from the calendar rules (Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday of November, a Saturday holiday is observed the Friday before, and so on), so they're right for every year without anyone updating a list.
  • Events are coloured by type: maintenance, inspection, driver or vehicle assignment, route, training, registration renewal, insurance renewal, other.
  • U.S. bank holidays (the federal holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas) are marked in purple on the day they are observed, with the day tinted. When a holiday falls on a weekend the day off is marked instead — a Saturday holiday on the Friday before, a Sunday one on the Monday after — and named (observed). They are worked out automatically for every year; you can't move or edit them, but you can still right-click that day to add an event.
  • Click an event to see it or edit it. Drag one of your own events to another day to reschedule it. Items that come from a maintenance due date or a document expiry open their source instead.

Add an event

The quickest way: right-click the day you want (in the Day, Week or Month view) and choose Add event. The form opens with that date already filled in. Right-clicking an event itself does nothing special. You can also use the small + in a day's corner, or the Add event button.

  1. Right-click a day and choose Add event — or press Add event at the top.
  2. Choose the type, give it a title, the start (and optional end) date and time.
  3. Optionally link a vehicle and a driver from the picture lists (choosing a vehicle that has a driver fills the driver in).
  4. Add a description and Save.
