Getting started

Notifications

The bell: reminders, alerts and messages, and how to control them.

The bell in the header shows how many notifications you haven't read. Click it (or open Notifications) to see them; opening one takes you to what it is about. Mark all read clears the number.

What creates a notification

  • Maintenance that is due or overdue, and failed inspections.
  • Driver licenses and medical cards, documents, insurance and registrations that are about to expire (at 90, 60, 30, 14 and 7 days by default, and again when expired).
  • Low stock on a part, new critical defects, vehicles put out of service, completed work orders, new defects and incidents.
  • Messages: a new note in a route's conversation, or in a driver's private chat.
  • Route changes (for drivers) — a new route, a change to one you're on, a new vehicle, being taken off a route, or a route being cancelled. Drivers are always notified of these; the setting can't turn them off.

You only get the ones relevant to your role. Administrators decide which alerts are on and how many days ahead they fire, under Settings › Notification rules.

Getting them by email

Notifications always appear under the bell. Whether they are also emailed to you is your choice: turn on Email me my notifications in My account › Email notifications. It is off until you turn it on. An email is only sent when both your switch and the company's rule for that alert allow it.

  • Sign-in emails (the activation link, password reset) and billing emails (invoices, payment reminders) are always sent — they aren't notifications.
  • Nothing about the demo data is ever emailed: alerts about demo buses and drivers show under the bell only.
