Getting started
Ask Ava
Ava, the round button at the bottom right of every page: ask her how to do anything, about your company (your compliance score, who's on a route today, a report), or to message a driver or assign a route — you confirm first.
Ava is FleetCommander's assistant. She's being switched on company by company; when she's on for yours, a round button with a sparkle sits at the bottom right of every page. Click it and a panel opens on the right.
- Click the Ava button at the bottom right.
- Type your question in the box at the bottom — e.g. How do I add an aide? or How do I create a route? — and press Enter or the arrow. Or click one of the suggested questions above the box; they change with the page you're on.
- Ava answers in a few seconds, with the buttons to press in bold and links to the right page or Help article. Ask a follow-up in the same conversation.
- Context under her name says which page you're on — this page or here in a question means that page.
- The conversation stays while the browser tab is open. New conversation (the circular arrow at the top) starts a new one; X (or Esc) closes the panel.
- Ava explains what the app does and how, from this Help center.
- She also looks things up for you — What's our compliance score?, Which licences expire this month?, Who's driving route 12 today?, Show me last month's fuel costs, or finding a vehicle, driver or work order. She gives the answer, then links the page with all of it (and, for a report, its CSV). While she looks, the panel says what she's checking.
- She only sees what you can: her lookups run as you, with your role's access, and never change anything. Drivers can ask her how to do things, but not to look things up (yet).
- She can also do a few things for you — Text Maria that she's running late, Put James on route 14 from Monday. She never does them on her own: she shows a card saying exactly what will happen (the message word for word, the route, the dates, who'll be told), with Confirm and Cancel. Nothing happens until you press Confirm — then it goes through the same steps as the app's own buttons: the same checks (a driver already on that run, a clash with another route), the driver is told, and the audit log shows it with (via Ava). A card waits 15 minutes, then expires.
- For adding a driver, an aide or a vehicle she opens the form with the boxes filled in from what you told her (they're outlined for a moment) — check it and press Save yourself.
- Anything else that changes your data — editing, deleting, archiving, settings, billing — she doesn't do; she tells you where to do it.
- When she can't write an answer, she shows the Help articles that cover the question.
